We had some great entries. A lot in fact, which made it quite hard to decide a winner. So instead of just a prize for first place as previously mentioned, we will also be awarding a 3 month subscription to second and third place winners.

1st Place:
*WhisperingSoul with Waiting for Santa
Whether you're old enough for it to be a nostalgic memory, or you still get that excited buzz waiting for Christmas morning, I think this image really hit a chord with a lot of the judges.
It really captures all those things that remind you of Christmas as a child, that idea of a warm and magical Christmas.

2nd Place:
*Lemia with The Three Brunettes
This picture really captured the comradery of Christmas - sharing the holiday with people you really care about.
It's a lovely image of a lot of peoples' wish for a white Christmas and being with friends throughout the holiday season.

3rd Place:
~sukaikun with Away from the City Lights
I think most of the judges liked this image, even if it wasn't their first choice. The details in the drawing are lovely and the soft colouring makes it feel very warm and comforting, allowing the little addition of colour here and there to really attract attention.
Another lovely image of spending the holidays with someone you love.

Hi guys, wow, and I mean WOW. I actually didn't expect the Group to grow that fast. I think we hit it in just after 2 weeks of being a Group.
It's great that old members remember us and new members like the look of the Group.

There's just 3 more days until the deadline for the Anime-Artists' Christmas Contest

We hope everyone's done all their Xmas shopping and is prepared for the holiday so that you have time to work on your submissions if you've not sent them yet.

Here are the Rules:

The image does not have to be created specifically for the club, but it must have been created this year.

The image must be added to the 'Christmas Contest 09' folder in Faves by 24th December 11:59GMT (this is midday so that we have time to judge before Christmas)

Prizes: A 12 month subscription and a feature in the AA group Gallery.

The Voting is in and we are pleased to announce the winner of our first contest as a Group:

Whilst we were pleased with all the entries, and all artists did a great job in such a short amount of time, this image stood out due to it's representation of the theme 'Anime-Artists'.
The comment that comes with the image reads 'Anime has always been one of my inspirations as an artist/illustrator. Anime keeps my world colorful and full of possibilities', which was reflected in the image itself.
It encapsulates the artistic side of anime, showing someone drawing, and also the influence that anime has even over several decades.

We hope that Anime will continue to inspire people and that our members will enjoy developing Anime as an art form as well as being a fan.

It's a week after we've become an official group. Things have been constantly changing both with #anime-artists and across all other groups.
There have been quite a few other Anime groups appear and been thinking of how to make our group different and better for its members.

We really want to show off the best of what anime artists can produce, and nurture the creative talent in our members.
So we've decided to change the way we allow Submissions:
Only one submission is allowed per week (a week counts from one Monday to the next).

Artwork will need approval before it is accepted (must be approved by 3 admins).

If your artwork is not accepted, don't be upset, it doesn't mean we don't want you in our group. Take it as encouragement to improve, there are a lot of other Anime groups that accept general submissions.

If your artwork is not accepted you must still wait until the next week to submit again.

If your artwork is not accepted for the main gallery it may still be selected to be displayed in our favourites gallery.

All artwork submitted for contests will be accepted, provided they meet the rules for that contest.

Faves:
Faves is now open. You may submit your work to either 'Members - Original Art' or 'Members - Fan art'

You may only submit to to Faves three times per week.

The 'Featured Gallery' in Faves is open to both members and non-members (you may submit a non-members' work to Featured Faves) but is reserved for the highest quality work you see.

Advice on getting your submission accepted:
No sketches or unfinished work (pencil work is accepted, just no doodles).

Take some time to select your best work to submit.

Remember only submit work which is related to anime and/or manga
